JaM Patch News ---- Latest from the Patch

We hope this finds you all well and happy.  Hasn't the weather been glorious?  We are so lucky and with the forecast for this week up north I am sure glad we all live here (even if it is for just part of a year.)  The store has been busy with lots of new projects being started and a few of our snowbirds making their last trip in before they fly north.  Stay safe and warm!!!

What are you working on?  We would love to hear about it and pass on any neat ideas you have for sharing.  Margy is working on the cutest little baby outfits for her granddaughter-to-be.  It is called Conversion Onesie. The patterns have arrived.  Margy also completed her Jane Sassaman class project.  I have been bitten by the Crazy Quilting bug and am stitching away at night. I have blocks to share and I, too, am working on my Jane Sassaman piece.  In addition, I am doing the Sue Spargo Block of Month in wool with beautiful embroidery stitches and embellishments. Here are a few pictures so you can see what we are working on.  Any interest?

This is Margy's.
Mine are on the other camera, so no pictures, sorry!

The Whimsical Garden group met for the final time last Friday and I can't resist sharing some of their work with you.  Boy, did they do a great job....I  just loved every single one of them.  More patterns should be arriving soon and you to can design your own Whimsical Garden.

We have been working on kits again.  We currently have several "Beach Walk" kits ready, if you are interested.  Many of you have asked for them.
The price is $315.75 for the complete kit including the 9 patterns, embellishment kit, all fabrics needed for the 59" x 72" art quilt top and our helpful hints to a successful project.  Where ever your home is, it will feel like living on the beach with this quilt hanging.  Warm your heart for pleasant memories on the beach.

Class news-
Beach Walk classes continue Wednesday, March 9th and 16th, as well as Saturday, March 12th.  All classes are 12:30 - 4pm.
Stack-n-Whack with Kim Ewing is back.  Friday, March 18th 9 - 3 Kim will share her EASY way to create this fabulous technique.  $35 for this requested class.
Monday, March 14th we are again hosting our Beginning Fusible Applique class.  10 - 2 for just $20.

We are all aware of the rising pricing in gas; oh my- scary when you fill the tank, and this price change is being passed on to us as the price of raw cotton and the manufacturing our our quilting goods continues to climb.  We want all of you to know we are attempting to keep our prices as low as possible to keep us all "in stitches."  We still have most of our fabrics below $10 per yard.  There are quite a few at $8.00 a yard.  We do not know how long that will last.  The reasons for the rise in cotton prices are three-fold.  This global economy is hitting cotton production:
1.  Weather such as a flood in Pakistan; early frost in China; and a hailstorm in Texas.
2.  India wants to hold on to its raw cotton for its own needs and China has a growing population to clothe.
3.  The cost of labor has risen in the third world.
While on that subject- we have received notice that the price of all Creative Grid products will increase as of April 1st.  Now is the time too inventory your rulers and fill in the holes.  We will be happy to special order any you request with a deposit of $10 each.  Get the rulers before the price increase.

Now on to better news- our SALE of the week:
Brown is the color of the week- 25% off fabric 1 yard or more, excluding new holiday and batiks.  Just think of the backs you need.
Moda Charm tins are just $10.  These are great little gifts to share- you don't even have to sew them.
All remaining Accu-Go products are 50% off while supplies last.  Stop by soon for the best selection.

Thank you for patronage and we hope to see you soon.
