JaM Patch News ----

Dear Quilting friends,

We can officially say it is cooler here!  Yippie, if it sticks around.  But for now it is so nice to be outside.  Yes, we can sew outside too.  Margy loves to sit on the front porch with her hand embroidery on her lap and swing.  Doesn't get much better!  And then when we thought the day couldn't get any better one of our dear customers, Judy T., came in with the find of this Candy Corn Season.....apparently Hershey has done a new kiss called CANDY CORN.  It is white chocolate colored as a candy corn.  It is delicious.  We can attest to that this is a FIND!!! Okay, we are now on the SEARCH.  Stephanie has been called to see if Publix has it.  A no there.  My friend in NYC has been contacted for a visit to the Hershey store.  Oh my goodness, too much good candy time!!!!
Our store sample top is complete.  We hope to have it quilted very soon but we have to say it looks great.  Thanks again to McKenna Ryan for a FL look design.  We do have some individual patterns and block fabric kits available.  More patterns should arrive anytime and the remaining fabric in a few weeks.  If you are interested in any of these just let us know.  Classes continue on Saturday afternoon 12:30 - 4 for guidance in construction of the Beach Walk blocks.
To continue our support of the Pink Tie Friends of the Treasure Coast we are collecting pillowcases for this great cause.  This local organization helps to financially support individuals who are battling breast cancer and can not afford treatment.  When you bring us at least 2 pillowcases, with some PINK in them, for The Pink Tie Friends we will give you a $5.00 Gift Certificate to the JaM Patch.  This offer is only through Oct 25th.  Hurray in to support a great bunch of folks who may help you one day or someone who is near and dear to you.  We are still participating in the Million Pillow case challenge and would be happy to accept all pillowcases to forward to the other charities we support.

We have kitted this special Block of the Month Program to assist you in completion of this quilt top. The fabrics for each block have been individually cut and are in the corresponding pattern folders. We have reduced the amounts suggested if possible to keep the cost of the fabric kit to a minimum. The yardage of backgrounds is whole and to be cut as directed for the 12 blocks. Block 13 is cut separately. All the block background have been done "reverse appliqué" with the blue dot cut away from the floral fabric. This cut out section is then used throughout the appliqués. Save all your cut outs! Our sample has been completed with fusible appliqué. We used Steam a Seam Lite. When the pieces have been fused down they are then stitched down to assure they are there to stay. The stitching also enhances the designs. We chose to stitch the appliqués down before the blocks have been put together. The classes begins on Monday, October 11th with Margy 10 - 2.  You do not need to attend to enjoy this great piece.
The Baltimore Christmas classes will begin on Thursday, October 21st.  It will be fun and informative.  We will have a good time doing fusible applique or for those of you with a needle, applique by hand.  Both styles of appliquing will be discussed and worked on in conjunction with your work.  Joey will be leading this class.  It will be a fun time.

New Samples
Thought I would take a few shots of the some seasonal samples that are at the Patch.  One is in progress and is great fun.  We have the pattern and kits.  The kit is $33.50 which includes the pattern.  It is called "The Spookiest

This one Margy used the pattern called "Vintage Trick or Treat" by Crab Apple Hill.  She didn't want a large quilt so she made a part of it and completed it as a wall hanging.  It hangs near the front desk.
Now did I hear people were looking for turkeys.  Well here is one.  A cutie done in wool, wool blend and cotton fabrics.  He definetly has an attitude.

New Products
We received in such a wonderful new fabric line from Andover.  Margy has already done a small sample in it.  It is called Blackbird Acres by Nancy Murty.  It is so wonderful Table Runner as a sample.
