The AMERICANA MODERN BLOCK OF THE MONTH quilt was designed by Diane Nagal exclusively using Nancy Halvorsen’s newest collection, “Tried and True” from Benartex. There are 55 fabrics in this collection of favorites. The finished quilt is 66 ½” x 79”. The quilt is designed with eight machine pieced blocks and appliqué blocks that can be done by hand or machine. The creative border adds to the uniqueness of this quilt.
We will be conducting workshops for the Americana Modern BOM twice a month for 4 months. This is to ensure our Winter Guests can complete a top while visiting the sunshine state. To achieve this goal the quilt top is broken into the following segments:
Class I- blocks 1, 2 &3 Class II - Blocks 4, 5 & 6 Class III-blocks 7 & 8
Class IV- appliquéd center blocks Class V- appliquéd corners
Class VI- center assembly plus borders Class VII- outside borders
Class VIII- Assembly and finishing
We will meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays from 1 – 4pm. Meeting Dates:
