The Civil war Tribute Quilt was designed to honor the upcoming 150th Anniversary of the American Civil War in 2011. The quilt highlights a variety of saw tooth and star blocks and will showcase Julie Rothermal's newest collection from Marcus Brothers Fabrics. Each of the quilt blocks represent a major battle fought during the war. In addition to detailed rotary cutting and machine piecing directions, each pattern includes historical references about a corresponding battle and how it affected the lives of those left at home. The battlefields were chosen to represent both the northern and southern points of views.
The quilt measures 100" x 112" and was designed by Homestead Hearth. At the end of 12 months you will have all the patterns and fabric to complete the top and binding.
We will meet the first Monday of each month for 12 months from 9am till Noon.
